Swing Set with Glider Swing

Thursday, March 31st, 2005

Here is a new swing set model with a glider swing. It also comes with a climbing rope and rope ladder. You’ll have to wait a bit longer for a picture of this swing set as I still haven’t been sent the pictures yet !

Another swing set has been added to Climbing Frames Etc. This model is also one from Plum Products and features a twin swing set, climbing rope, and rope ladder.

New Swing Set Model

I’ve just added a new swing set model to the site. This is one of the Plum Products models and works out significantly cheaper than the other swing set which is currently on offer.

New Climbing Frames, Swing Sets, Forts, and Other Play Equipment

Tuesday, March 29th, 2005

I will be adding Plum Products range of play equipment to Climbing Frames Etc.’s range of play structures. They have quite an extensive range which covers everything from low cost swing sets right up to £7000 commercial playground equipment. They also have outdoor pools and a range of trampolines which nicely compliment the existing range on Climbing Frames Etc.

It’s probably going to take a few days to add the full range so please bear with me.

Climbing Frame Change

Friday, March 25th, 2005

The climbing frame, climbing frame 1, has been updated to the 2005 model. There are some changes that are worth mentioning. The climbing frame now is able to be integrated with some of the kids fort systems that will be getting added to the site over the next few days. The 2004 model could have accessories added to it, but it was not capable of being part of a bigger play system. I’ll add some pictures of examples of how the climbing frame and kids forts can work together.

While it will be possible to purchase the climbing frame without a slide, it must (due to EU regulations) be sold with a ‘full side kit’ to prevent your kids from falling out the gap where the slide would normally go. By the time the cost of the full side kit is added on the cost of the climbing frame there is not that much difference between the cost of buying the climbing frame with the slide and buying it without. Still, I will keep the option of buying the climbing frame without the slide for those people who want to purchase it to add to their existing play structures.

Climbing Frames on Ebay

Tuesday, March 22nd, 2005

I may open a Climbing Frames store on Ebay, but for the next couple of months the climbing frames, kids forts, swing sets, etc. that Climbing Frames Etc. carries will also be available on our Garden Playground Equipment Ebay store.

Products won’t necessarily be any cheaper in the Ebay store due to the overheads. Special offers will get published on Ebay, but not until the store is fully restocked with the 2005 range of products.

Climbing Frames Etc. - New Play Structure Models

Monday, March 14th, 2005

Just a brief post to say that I will be adding the rest of the EN71-8 compliant climbing frames, kids forts, and other play structures tomorrow. These should be appearing on the site throughout the day tomorrow.

Climbing Frames & EN71-8

Saturday, March 12th, 2005

Under the new EN71-8 regulations products affected must not have an opening off a platform which does not ‘have a use’. In other words there mustn’t be open sides where children could fall off the platform. The open side can ‘have a use’ by the addition of a slide, bridge etc.

For those products affected, where a slide, bridge etc is not purchased then a Full Side Kit must be ordered. This will retail for £30 and will be necessary to comply with the new regulations (if not purchasing an alternative to fill the gap).

Payment Facility up and running again

Thursday, March 10th, 2005

There was a brief period last week when the payment facility was down briefly (about 48 hours). This was due to a slip up at Barclaycard Merchant Services. The good news is that they have pulled out all the stops and fixed the problem, so as of Monday 7th March everything is back up and running.

Payment facility temporarily down

Friday, March 4th, 2005

Due to a mistake on the part of Barclays Merchant Services Climbing Frames Etc. is unable to take any orders until probably around Tuesday of next week (8th March 2005). I rang up over a week ago to inform them that I would be switching internet payment provider, only to be told that I didn’t need to let them know as it would be handled by the new and outgoing companies. Guess what ? The girl I spoke to was completely wrong. Now they are sending me out forms to fill in and the carefully planned move has gone to pieces. I’m now left with no way of taking payment over the next 3 or 4 days !

BMS are treating it as an urgent matter, but it’s still nowhere near quick enough. Particularly when the fault is all theirs.

Climbing Frames Etc. - Site Changes

Wednesday, March 2nd, 2005

As you may have noticed, I have made the changes to the news section of Climbing Frames Etc. that I mentioned in a previous post. The main cosmetic changes have been completed, but there is still a lot of work to be done in adding content and maybe changing a few categories around. Hopefully, these will be completed over the next few days.
